Getting to Snowdon

The Snowdon Challenge will begin and end in Llanberis. If you are driving, the best postcode is LL55 4SU. Please check the latest weather reports before driving and ensure your vehicle is in good working order.

If travelling by train, the closest stations are Bangor and Betws-y-Coed. You will need to arrange further local transport to get to Llanberis, and this is around a 30-45 minute drive. There are bus routes available too, but you will need to check the times of these for the day you are travelling.

Accommodation

We recommend staying the night before the hike – particularly if you choose one of the earlier hike departure times. We expect there to be a lot of demand for rooms over this weekend, so please book your accommodation as soon as you can.

There are plenty of options available in and around Llanberis and we strongly suggest staying as close to the town as you can. There is a wide choice ranging from hotels to quaint B&Bs, self-catering cottages, Youth Hostels and campsites as well in very close proximity. Visit booking.com to see the latest availability.

If you are booking accommodation in the area please familiarise yourself with the hotel’s refund policy. Please also consider taking out travel insurance to cover your trip in the event of cancellation.
