Lead Advanced Clinical Practitioner Liam Duffy has been recognised by his nursing colleagues as a Cavell Star Award winner for going above and beyond for his colleagues.
Anthony Freestone, colleague and Head of Resuscitation explained why Liam was a worthy winner,
“Liam is an inspirational leader. He leads a team of eight advanced and nurse practitioners within acute medicine, some in training, and always goes the extra mile to ensure all staff have the appropriate study time allocated as part of their working week.
“Acute Medicine is one of the most challenging specialities within unscheduled healthcare. What’s lovely to see is that Liam always tackles every day with a smile on his face. He always goes the extra mile with patient care to ensure they receive the right experience and often will personally go to areas such as CT & MRI to ensure the referrals are personally received. He will then personally take the patient to the departments that support treatments to ensure they feel reassured.
“Liam truly deserves recognition for the service he has developed and embraced within the organisation.”
