Danielle Anderson, Nurse Governance Manager at Boots – the UK’s leading health and beauty retailer, has won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond for her colleagues.
Colleague and nurse Laura Russell explains why Danielle is such a deserving winner.
“Danielle has successfully set up the implementation of Nursing into a business which for the past 175 years has been pharmacist based. She has successfully creating bespoke induction plans, creating networking opportunities for the team and regular CPD days. She oversees the Nursing team with such care and passion, she is never too busy to deal with any concerns the team have no matter how big or small they may be. She is kind, polite and always willing to listen and help.
“Danielle goes above and beyond to be an advocate for the Nursing team. Travelling across the full length of the country to visit Nurses frequently or act as a supervisor during their induction period to ensure they have supervision time before going live on services. Any concerns are listened to by her and she will also strive to implement change and Danielle is always gathering our feedback to improve procedures. She truly wants the best for the team and is keen to support and continue ongoing development and push the team to achieve their best. She is truly so passionate about her career and that of her colleagues.”
Danielle reacted to winning her Cavell Star Award.
“I feel very proud to have been awarded a Cavell Star Award. Those who know me will know I am a massive advocate for my profession and the rest of the Nursing team. I have worked very hard throughout my career and continued during my time at Boots to ensure Nurses feel supported and have a good network around them and truly feel part of our ever growing multidisciplinary team.
“Nurses were brand new to the Boots in 2023 and reflecting back on the journey to date I am very proud to have got the nurses set up and running with services within the business.
I love travelling around to our Nurse stores and spending time not only with the Nurses but also colleagues within store.
“My Nursing team mean so much to me, I love to see the development of a new Nurse from starting with us to fast forwarding a few months and seeing the progress they’ve made, seeing all the fantastic feedback they receive from our patients.”
