Beth Nash, nurse and Deputy Clinical services Manager at Turning Point has won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond for her patients.
Colleague and nurse Francesca Williams explains why Beth is a deserving winner.
“Beth is an outstanding member of Turning Point who not only is a deputy manager, but a non-medical prescriber and registered nurse who mainly looks after the homeless population.
“Beth is approachable, calm and proactive in her role. Since I have started at Turning Point Beth has made me feel included and welcome throughout and will always be approachable for any concerns big or small. Her persona is a nurturing member of the team and will not show that she is stressed herself and will take on challenges, be proactive and non-judgmental.
“As she sees primarily the homeless population it is clear to see that the patients also find her approachable and have built a trusting relationship with her considering the barriers with trust and accessing health care from various literature.
She is proactive within her role and will implement changes to better the service and how the team develops too. I really do believe that Beth is an inspiring leader who will continue to not only develop the overall Turning point service, but to her colleagues and patients. I truly am grateful to be part of a supportive team thanks to her.”
Beth reacted to receiving her Cavell Star Award.
“I feel honoured to have received the Award, it was completely unexpected. I love that I can make a difference to the lives of the individuals we support. Our clients are often faced with stigma and poorer health outcomes due to inequality in accessing healthcare. To be recognised for supporting them and my team, I feel truly grateful. I am very lucky to work alongside such dedicated and compassionate nurses at Turning Point.”
