About Nominations
How do the Cavell Star Awards work?
It’s really simple. You nominate nursing colleagues who you feel deserve celebrating for looking after their colleagues, for putting their arm around the whole team. You can also nominate staff members for excellent care of patients and their families.
What happens after I submit my nomination for a colleague to win a Cavell Star Award?
A Cavell team member will get in touch to discuss with you the person you have nominated. We are keen for you and your colleague to share your story with Cavell to help celebrate the amazing work nurses, midwives, nursing associates and HCAs do every day in the UK.
How will the Cavell Star Award be presented to my colleague?
If your nomination is successful, we will send you a dazzling Cavell Star medal for you and your team to present to your star colleague. This can either be part of your existing staff awards programme, or an informal workplace presentation, whichever you prefer. The award is from you, to them. We’ll also provide a beautiful Cavell Star pin badge for your colleague to wear every day as a reminder of how they shine.
How much does it cost?
It’s free! There’s no cost involved for you or your employer. Our generous sponsors are supporting the Cavell Star Awards programme because they, like us, want to celebrate the amazing dedication that nursing professionals show every day in the UK. Cavell is looking for good news stories about nurses, midwives, healthcare assistants and nursing associates, so we’re keen to explore with you how to share you and your colleague’s story.
About sponsorship
Who can become a Cavell Star Award sponsor and how much does it cost?
Anyone can become a sponsor. The annual sponsorship fee is currently £7,500.
What are the sponsor benefits?
Sponsors benefits are designed to help your organisation proudly show how much you value and care about the UK nursing and midwifery family. Benefits include Invitations to the Cavell House of Lords event, a wonderful celebration of the nations’ nursing and midwifery professionals. Also, a personalised sponsor page on this website and access to Cavell Star Award winners’ stories both generated by the community and created by the Cavell team. Your sponsorship goes further with 50% of your sponsorship fee going directly to nurses, midwives, nursing associates and HCAs who contact us for help.
