Patient Flow Nurse Alison Mole from Fairfield General Hospital has won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond got her colleagues.
Senior Directorate Manager of Integrated Care and colleague Katy Alcock explained why Alison is a worthy winner.
“Alison really is the linchpin within the organisation supporting nurses and other members of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), communicating with colleagues and co-ordinating care across hospital and community services, health and social care. Patient flow and hospital discharge can sometimes be a thankless, underappreciated role and it takes a special person to do it, but Alison approaches it with professionalism and incredible knowledge and experience.
“Alison is extremely approachable and willing to take on any task from other busy people to make their workload more manageable and ensure patients are well cared for. Nothing is too much trouble and if Alison says she will sort something out, no double checking or asking again is ever needed, everyone has full confidence that the issue will be resolved.
“A recent compliment submitted anonymously by another member of staff probably best sums up Alison contribution to her own and other teams, it demonstrates how much she is valued by her colleagues.”
