Colleague and Senior Sister Larissa Gillings explains why Amanda is deserving of her Cavell Star Award,
“Amanda has supported me throughout my journey from management student nurse to senior sister. She has seen me progress and grow and encouraged me greatly along the way. She always goes over and above for her staff and patients. Amanda has stayed late 4 hours over her working time to help facilitate moves throughout wards. She has helped a band 6 nurse who is not confident dealing with a situation in the absence of her band 7. She has sat with you as a new band 7 until you fully understand the new technology of your job role. She is available to talk to for support 24/7.”
