Advanced Nurse Practitioner Aysha Badat from Alastair Ross Medical Practice has won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond for her patients.
Colleague and Primary Care Nursing Lead for NHS England, Louise Brady, explains why Aysha deserves her award.
“Aysha is an inclusive, passionate and supportive patient advocate, with a breath and depth of knowledge and skills working across two GP Practices and her Primary Care Network. She has gone above and beyond by being able to recognise and articulate the clinical and economic impact of nursing care in partnership with patients and families. Aysha continues to champion self care, in a diverse community across Greater Manchester, and is a clinical champion across the Diabetes Pathways.
Aysha reacted to winning her Cavell Star Award.
“The nursing culture is forever changing becoming more and more challenging. However, receiving the Cavell Star Award reminded of how rewarding nursing can be and has made me more determined to continue representing patients and being a patient advocate. A vey big thank you to those who nominated me and to the lovely team at Alastair Ross Medical Practice.”
