Nursing Sister Clare Denny from Harefield Hospital has won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond for her colleagues.
Head of Nursing Ellen Dunthorne explains why Clare is such a worthy winner.

Clare reacted to winning her Cavell Star Award.
“I was absolutely shocked at receiving it! Such a prestigious award, I am so grateful. I really didn’t expect to receive any kind of nomination for just doing my job! I love sharing knowledge and making patients feel at ease. I am extremely proud to work at Harefield Hospital due to the ethos that is embedded within our staff. We treat patients like our family and we also look after each other.
“We’re a small team with not only nurses, but excellent administrators as well. I have been the sister for 8 years and I feel we have been through some big changes in that time. We are like a family and I feel very blessed to work with lovely people who all put the patients at the heart of everything they do.”
