Junior Sister Danni Brookes has won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond for her patients at Gloucester Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Colleague and Lead nurse for Recruitment, Attraction and Retention Fran Wilson explains why Danni deserves her award,
“Danni always goes the extra mile for patients, with lots of phone calls and iPad use with patients’ families and staying late, she’s like it consistently. Sometimes she buys patients bacon sandwiches when they won’t eat, the list goes on. Danni is a really kind hearted and a very caring nurse.
“She was excellent when dealing with a complex mental health patient recently and her teaching of respiratory skills during the Covid-19 pandemic has been outstanding.”
