Delyth Davies, Head of Nursing, Infection Prevention & Control from Swansea Bay University Health Board has won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond for her colleagues.
Team mate and Associate Nurse Director Lesley Jenkins explains why Delyth is such a worthy winner,
“Working hard behind the scenes, Delyth has demonstrated extraordinary commitment and compassion in her efforts to safeguard patients and staff as part of the COVID-19 Emergency Response over the past 3 years.
“Never has there been such an overwhelming period of time where the health board has been reliant on her expert advice, often working above and beyond, pulled in many directions, and working additional hours when the team was stretched. She has been steadfast in her professionalism and remained highly responsive to support staff across a very large organisation.
“Delyth always puts patients and staff first and her calm ability to reassure staff, sometimes working in fearful and distressing circumstances, is highly valued by her peers and the organisation. She is a quiet, modest hero, and I have no hesitation nominating her for this award.”
