Quality and Performance Matron Eleonora Infurna from St Mary’s Hospital has won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond for her colleagues.
Staff Nurse and colleague Leila Ali explains why Eleonora is such a worthy winner.
“There is no task too large for Ella when it comes to providing support. She is always willing to lend an ear despite her busy schedule, helping us through any issues we face. Her work ethic is truly inspiring, and she goes above and beyond in supporting both staff and patients. Ella is an invaluable asset to our trust and to the nursing profession as a whole. Even during hectic times in the clinics, she remains calm and professional, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
“Ella is very approachable, and sometimes we forget she is our matron because she willingly covers clinical areas when we are short-staffed, working just as hard—if not harder—than anyone else to ensure the smooth running of the service. She wears many hats and goes above and beyond to ensure we deliver the best service possible. I often wonder how she manages it all, but I am incredibly grateful to have known her.”
