Emmanuel Oluwaniyi, Trainee Nursing Associate from Livingstone Community Hospital, had won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond for his colleagues and patients.
He was nominated by four nursing colleagues, one of them was nurse Maileen Gabriel. She explained why Emmanuel is such a worthy winner,
“Emmanuel has made his patients have a good experience during their stay in the hospital by caring with empathy and compassion for them. Also, Emmanuel has gone above and beyond for his colleagues by promoting the principle of inclusion, equality and diversity. He displays this when he welcomes the international nurses into our hospital and introducing the values of the company to them.”
Emmanuel reacted to winning his award,
“I am so happy to find out that I am a winner of a Cavell Star Award, this recognition has already fuelled my passion to do more in ensuring that I make a positive impact on people’s lives both colleagues, patients and relatives. I love working here and find colleagues have such a positive ‘can do’ attitude, which has been so important over the last year or so with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The team’s working ethos of delivering care you would want for your own family. I get a lot of satisfaction from my job, as I know our team is helping to transform lives every day of the year. Lastly, the nursing team means everything to me.”
