Helen reacted to winning her Cavell Star Award,
“It was an absolute shock and surprise when I realised I was being presented with an award and also that it was my colleagues whom I line manage had nominated me. Dealing with the pandemic had been the most challenging part of my career and to know that my colleagues had felt supported by me meant so much.
“The teams that I support mean so much to me. When I first joined community services I was in awe of the care and compassion that they deliver to people in their own homes every day. The dedication that the clinicians and managers has showed during the pandemic is unmeasurable. Everyone has gone the extra mile and I appreciate everything that they have done and continue to do.”
