Josephine Herbert, registered nurse at Leicestershire Partnership Trust has won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond for her patients. Team mate and nursing associate Aimee Bradshaw explains why Josephine is such a worthy winner,
“The amount of care, compassion and knowledge I have seen and learned from Josephine has been such an blessing. It was hard only being able to select one option of what she had gone above and beyond for as her care and compassion towards not only the patients but their families and her colleagues around her never fails to amaze.
“As a mentor she has also gone above and beyond to help and support me with every opportunity possible and encouraged me to really push myself. She has supported me with not only my clinical knowledge and experiences but has spent time out of her working hours to read through my academic papers and support me in every way possible. Josephine is always willing to take students under her wing and support them through their journey.”
Josephine reacted to winning her Cavell Star Award,
“I feel very overwhelmed that I won the award. I never dreamt that I would have been nominated. I am so grateful to have been nominated and to have won is absolutely amazing. It is an absolute honour to receive the award. My team at work are so important to me. We get on well and work well together, it’s like a family. We look after each other and are kind, caring and empathetic to each other because we are all in this together.”
