Celebrating Lynne

Matron Lynne Mould from Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital has won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond for colleagues.

Head of Nursing and colleague Lorraine Tinker explains why Lynne is a worthy winner,

“Lynne is a compassionate leader, she is one of the first Professional Nurse Advocates (PNA) in children’s nursing and this epitomises how she coaches and supports staff in the children’s hospital. She is kind and listens to staff, and has been so supportive to all throughout Covid to individuals level of anxiety.

“Lynne has a wealth of surgical knowledge having been a children’s surgical nurse for over 20 years. She also represents the hospital, her colleagues and patients on the South East surgical network and is the only nurse on the Board amongst the surgeons. She is well respected. Lynne goes above and beyond all the time and is the kindest, most organised and selfless nurse I know.”

Lynne reacted to winning her Cavell Star Award,

“”It made me feel very valued and appreciated. This award just reinforced how within the Childrens hospital staff are valued and efforts are recognised. This award also helped me to validate that even the smallest of actions can make a big difference to a person and has spurred me on to keep doing what I do!

“My nursing team are amazing, they have shown such amazing resilience and dedication to looking after each other even more so through the pandemic. I am so proud to be their matron!”
