Discharge Team Leader Marie Casey has won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond for her colleagues.
Discharge Planning Nurse and team member Fatou Sarr explains why Marie was nominated,
“Marie goes above and beyond for all her staff. Even though she is the boss she respects her junior staff too. It is not easy to find a true leader to look up to, so it has been a wonderful experience to work with a great boss like Marie. Her leadership skills make it easy to manage her team effectively and we are proud to learn some of these qualities from her. Her leadership and words of encouragement mean a lot to us. We are forever grateful for the knowledge and skills that we have gained working under Marie’s leadership.
