Staff Nurse Rosie Preston from Royal Shrewsbury Hospital has won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond for her colleagues.
Ward Sister and team mate Sarita Sneade explained why Rosie is such a worthy winner,
“Rosie retired and has come back to help with the training and development team. Her vast experience has helped new starters and existing staff develop into competent Theatre practitioners. Rosie has dedicated her skills and knowledge by formulating teaching plans, carrying out practical teaching sessions on medical equipment within the department .Rosie deserves to be recognised for all her hard work and to know that the department value her.
“With all of Rosie’s teaching this enables staff to deliver valuable care and knowledge to the patients in their care.”
Rosie reacted to winning her Cavell Star Award,
“I was caught completely unaware and totally humbled! Sarita kept it a secret but I love them for their wonderful comments.
“I have always loved my nursing role whatever my title has been. It was a wonderful feeling to be part of a team that improved or saved lives. I am passionate about best practice and education and my new team are a great bunch. We work closely together striving to improve patient care within the theatre department.”
