To celebrate International Nurses Day on 12th May 2026, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has awarded 12 members of their Critical Care nursing team with a Cavell Star Award!
The staff members were nominated for their dedication, kindness to colleagues, consistent hard work, excellent patient care, attention to detail, and professionalism, amongst many other traits, all individually making a noticeable difference to the Critical Care Unit at UCLH.

Eva said, “Receiving the Cavell award was a surprise and a real honour. It made me feel valued and appreciated for the work we do everyday in CCU and I am very grateful for the recognition. A boost in confidence and motivation.”
Commenting on the recognition from her team, Aicha said, “It meant the most to me that a colleague had taken the time to nominate me and I felt that my work had made a positive difference.”
Kathy added, “It was a complete surprise and touching to win the Cavell Award to know the effort I make for the patients, my colleagues and our profession is seen by our department.”
