Celebrating Wilfredo

Nurse and Education and Development Facilitator Wilfredo Vitao Jr. from George Eliot Hospital has won a Cavell Star Award for going above and beyond for his colleagues.

Colleague and Theatre Sister Cristy Belle Jaleco explains why Wil is such a worthy winner,

“Wil is instrumental in the development and delivery of the Trust’s NMC-OSCE preparation program. His effective mentorship has led to 62 Internationally Educated Nurses passing their exams.

“Beyond his role in preparing IENs for their competence exam, he works tirelessly to ensure their seamless transition into their new role and their new life in the UK. Wil’s leadership is characterised by empathy, inclusivity and a genuine concern for the well-being of his colleagues. His ability to empathise with and understand the unique challenges faced by internationally educated nurses has cultivated an environment rich in support and acceptance. Wil serves as an inspirational figure within our organisation in championing an inclusive workplace.”
