Cavell Nurses’ Trust is delighted to welcome Health Service Discounts as a Campaign Sponsor for this year’s 10k For Nurses & Midwives.

This inspiring fundraising campaign will run throughout October and see hundreds of motivated nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants taking on 10k-themed challenges to raise vital money for colleagues in hardship.

Fundraisers can complete their 10k challenge any way they like, including running or swimming 10k, walking 10,000 steps a day, skydiving from 10,000ft, or taking on a unique challenge for 10,000 seconds like singing or dancing. There is no limit to how the 10k can be achieved and there is also an option to complete the 10k as part of a hiking expedition to conquer Snowdon on 10th October.

Health Service Discounts have a mission to ‘help those who help others’ and do this by providing discounts to NHS and Healthcare staff. The discount scheme is completely free to sign up to and already 1.8 million key healthcare workers are taking advantage of the great discounts offered on day to day items they love, including fashion, shopping, holidays and more.

As Campaign Sponsor of 10k For Nurses & Midwives, Health Service Discounts will be instrumental in helping to raise tens of thousands of pounds to help offer life-changing aid to nurses, midwives & healthcare assistants in need.

We spoke to Connor Hardie, Marketing Executive, to learn more about why Health Service Discounts have chosen to generously support the 10k For Nurses & Midwives fundraising campaign.

“We have been working with Cavell for a number of years and the work they do in helping support Nurses & Midwives in hardship is incredible. We are always happy to help support when and where we can.

10k For Nurses & Midwives is a challenge that our team and everyone taking part will smash, but it isn’t a challenge compared to the real hardships people face in their day to day lives, whether that be through financial or personal hardships. Completing our own fundraising challenge to help those who need it is an honour.”

As well as being Campaign Sponsor, Healthcare Service Discounts staff are joining nursing and midwifery fundraisers from around the UK and getting stuck into raising money too!

This year has been incredibly challenging in particular for nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants. Money raised through 10k For Nurses & Midwives will come at an incredibly crucial time as Cavell Nurses’ Trust has faced record levels of applications for help since the pandemic began in March. The fundraising from this campaign will help meet this increased need and also help to build the foundation for long-term support in the future.
