A message for International Women’s Day by Constance Naliaka

I have just completed my Nursing bachelor’s degree and I’m eagerly anticipating my internship placement. My nursing education, guided primarily by women, has revealed the true meaning of leadership in healthcare.

My midwifery rotation supervisor embodied the qualities I aspire to: unwavering dedication and a genuine commitment to the growth of her students. She invested in us, going above and beyond to provide individualised feedback on the areas of improvement in our notes work and skills.

Her influence, echoed by so many other female nurses, demonstrates the compassion that defines women’s leadership in nursing and midwifery. This International Women’s Day, I honour the nurses and midwives who are always committed to nurture the next generation.
