With nursing staff continuing to take industrial action this winter and midwifery staff being balloted about taking action, Cavell Nurses’ Trust explains its policy on supporting the nursing and midwifery family at this time.

As a charity supporting nurses, midwives and healthcare support workers every day in the UK, Cavell is aware of the ongoing pay discussions between government, unions and employers and more widely in society and we’re pleased there is a positive conversation taking place in society about the value of nursing and midwifery.

Cavell supports the right for everyone in the nursing and midwifery family to have their voice heard if they wish to and recognise that industrial action is something that is taken seriously by everyone involved.

Whilst this is happening, the Cavell team will continue to help those in the nursing and midwifery family who are struggling with financial hardship based on the charity’s criteria for support.
