The Cavell Purple Walk – Walk for nurses and midwives

Get together with colleagues, friends and family on Wednesday 6th May and step up for nurses and midwives!

Complete 15,000 steps, wear purple and raise money to support nurses and midwives facing a crisis.

From handing a new Mother her new baby, to offering comfort and dignity at the end of life, nurses and midwives are there for all of us. They hold our hands during our darkest days and hardest goodbyes with unwavering compassion and care.

But who looks after them?

Cavell is the charity supporting UK nurses and midwives when they’re facing a cancer diagnosis or suffering from burnout. We need your help to be here for nurses like Micha.

Nurses can clock-up 15,000 steps during the course of a busy 12-hour shift, ensuring their patients receive the care they need. On the 6th of May we are inviting you to walk a day in a nurse’s footsteps and raise money to support them.

Will you wear something purple and step up for nurses and midwives?

You can take part in the Cavell Purple Walk wherever you are, with your colleagues, your family or your friends. To take part simply register and pay your £10 registration fee! You will receive a pin badge in the post to show your support.

If you’d like to go the extra mile for nurses and midwives you can fundraise too and ask family and friends to sponsor you.

What if I can’t walk 15,000 steps?

We want everyone to feel like they can get involved in the Cavell Purple Walk on Wednesday 6th May. Here are alternative ways that you and your colleagues, friends and family can take part:

• Share the 15,000 steps amongst your walking team, doing 1,000 or 5,000 each for example.
• You can walk in nature, around town or within your office or home.
• 15,000 steps is roughly 10km. You can cover the distance in any way that suits you!
